Kobold Gesture/Chat Commands

Channel

The kobold uses channel 8659 for basic gestures. It uses channel 8660 for textures. To send a command on the appropriate channel, prefix it with a slash. Command segments are separated with a space.

Eg: /8659 express happy

Note that most of these commands can be done via the included Usage HUD. However, if you want to set manual gestures for these, the following will aid you.

Sit

The kobold comes with six sit animations. By default when sitting, a random animation is selected. A sit animation may be manually chosen by gesture command. Counting starts from zero.

  • sit 0 - Toggles the first sit animation.
  • sit 1 - Toggles the second sit animation.
  • ...
  • sit 5 - Toggles the sixth sit animation.
  • sit -1 - Plays a random sit animation.
  • unsit - Stops any playing sit animation.

Expressions

To trigger the built in expressions, you can use the following commands.

  • express neutral - Switches to the neutral expression.
  • express happy - Switches to the happy expression.
  • express sad - Switches to the sad expression.
  • express mad - Switches to the angry expression.

Eyelid State

To open, squint, or close the eyes, use the following commands.

  • eye open - Opens the eyes.
  • eye squint - Half-closes the eyes in a squint.
  • eye closed - Closes the eyes. ("close" will also work)

Jaw Open

To close or open the jaw, use the following commands.

  • jaw 0 - Close the jaw.
  • jaw 1 - Open the jaw slightly.
  • ...
  • jaw 10 - Open the jaw as wide as it can open.

Animations

If you want to manually play or stop an animation found in the AO, you can do so with the following commands. When a partial name is provided, the script will search (in reverse alphabetical order) for the first matching animation and play that one.

  • animplay name - Will play animation "name" if it is found.
  • animstop name - Will stop animation "name" if it is found.
  • animstopall - Will stop all animations found in the inventory. Useful if something unknown got stuck. Consider flying and landing to restart the basic AO animations.

Settings

These are various settings -- most available on the usage HUD -- to enable and disable certain behaviors. Note that when supplying a value to these settings, the values "1", "on", "true", and "yes" are accepted to turn them on. Anything else will turn them off.

  • set ao on - Turns the AO on or off.
  • set sit 0 - Values 0-5 accepted. Sets the default sit animation.
  • set sit -1 - Sets the default sit to random. This is the default setting.
  • set idleplay on - The idle animations are enabled/disabled with this command.
  • set idlepause on - If enabled, idle animations will not play until the state changes (sit, fly, walk behavior changes). This is useful for playing custom gesture or animations and not wanting them interrupted.
  • set blink on - Sets whether the blink animation plays. Default on.
  • set talkjaw on - When enabled, the talking animation is played when typing chat messages on the keyboard.
  • set voicejaw on - When enabled, the talking animation is played when using voice chat.
  • updater on - Enables or disables the autoupdater (in case you want to stick to an old version).

Other

  • voicecycle - Command issued by the voice chat gestures to trigger a cycle of the talkjaw.
